We sure hope not but we know they are out there!
So, we’re looking at the top three reasons people don’t want to sing karaoke and more importantly, how you can convince them to do it!

Skeptical Friend Type #1
Don’t want to be the center of attention
Who are these people? Just kidding, there are tons of people who don’t like to be the center of attention. It just makes them uncomfortable and this is probably the hardest skeptic to help. However, it can be done!
Let them know they won’t be the center of attention. Tell them that it’s private suite – just friends. And that in our private suites, they can just chill. We have some comfy couches they can hang on and they don’t have to even pick up a mic. They can get a bite to eat, have a drink, listen to the others singing.
Then what will probably happen is they find themselves singing along. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll enjoy that so much they’ll actually stand up and sing into a microphone. Don’t worry though, that is not necessary! A person who doesn’t want to be the center of attention WILL have a good time being around everyone else having fun.

Skeptical Friend Type #2
Don’t like how they sound
This is a big one. Let’s face it not many of us are really great singers, not even those who think they are! Some think they are off key, some can’t keep up with the tune, and some just don’t like the sound of their own voice. Whatever the reason, they don’t want to sing karaoke because of it.
The best way to get these types on board are to, again, tell them they don’t have to sing. No pressure! Once they arrive and get a little comfortable with others singing, add in a group song or even just duet – just not anything they sing alone. Make sure it’s an easy song that lots of people will join in with, like Mamma Mia by Abba, I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett, Ironic by Alanis Morissette, or even All Star by Smash Mouth.
Then start singing, let everyone join in, they probably will too, then during the chorus part hold the mic up to them. Just let them start with the chorus. Take the mic back and then give it back again for the chorus. Just baby steps. Do this again but now choose a song you know they absolutely love! This time, give them their own mic an pull them up to sing with you!
Oh yes, we’ve converted them!

Don’t want to pick a bad song
Now this is possible. Some songs just aren’t good karaoke songs – yes, I said it! However, we have the solution, which you probably knew we would.

So, you download that app with them, together check out your favorites and their favorites, maybe even give a song or two a try before you get here. Favorite the best ones in the app. When you get here, you can transmit those favorites right to the system in your suite!
